The County Clerk's offices contain a library of records, such as deeds, plats and other records pertaining to property located within the county. These records are open to the public and provide valuable data regarding the size, shape and location, legal description and property owner of all property situated in the County. The County Clerk is the clerk of the Commissioners' Court, County Court at Law #1, Probate Court and is the local registrar for Calhoun County.

When searching court records, if you know only part of the name add an " * " at the end of the search.

Search by Last Name, First Name.

Public Property Records


 Search Official Public Records online from 1992 - Present through County Government Records. Register online and select the county you are searching for.

Search under "Both Names" by Last Name, First Name.

Deed Index Online


 Search Land Record Index Books online through Kofile. Date ranges from 1882 to 2009. To purchase the document associated with this site; please contact our office for copies at 361.553.4411.

Marriage Licenses


  • Please note, no marriage licenses will be issued after 4:00 pm.
  • There is a 72 hour waiting period after the license is issued.
  • The marriage license is valid for 90 days after the license is issued.

  •  Please call to make an appointment to file an Acknowledgment of Paternity with the state. Parents can learn more about an Acknowledgment of Paternity prior to visiting the Clerk's office. See link below.
